High School

High School is our foundational course for all of your big goals with your dog! This class is designed to work through common behavior issues like pulling on walks, jumping on guests, and dealing with distractions in the real world. Adult dogs may have had more time to rehearse these unwanted behaviors, but at Clickstart we know that you can teach an older dog new tricks!

If you’re ready to take your dog’s basic training to the next level, this class will prepare both ends of the leash with expert training strategies. If your dog is less than 24 months with little prior training, we highly recommend starting in Middle School. High School is our pre-requisite class for College regardless of your dog’s age.

Class set up

We use physical and visual barriers to help your dog ignore the other teams and focus on you. This also gives you a chance to work off leash with your dog for the first few classes. We aim to fade all of the barriers out, so that you and your dog are working on leash in close proximity to other teams without a dip in focus and attention from your dog.

FAQs

  • Yes! We only require one or the other: 24 months of age or Middle School graduation.

However, if your dog is still in the height of their adolescence (in-tact, not a great listener, highly impulsive, hyper-social, etc.) then we recommend continuing their education with our extracurricular classes such as Nose Work or Clicks for Tricks before starting High School.

You’ll get the most out of the High School Class when you have a more mature canine brain on board!

  • We recommend beginning with Middle School anytime we’re unsure of a dog’s exact age or prior learning history. This will allow you to get the most out of our full curriculum. Once you have that training foundation from Middle School, you and your dog will thrive in High School!

  • If your dog is scared to leave the house, unlikely to take treats on our campus, or reactive or aggressive toward other dogs and people, then we require beginning with a Behavior Evaluation or our Reactive Rover Recovery class.

After completing one of those two services, we’ll let you know if High School is the next best service to meet your goals!

  • Whether it’s a planned absence or a last minute emergency, each series comes with a complimentary Make Up/Office Hour class to schedule at your convenience. While we don’t offer refunds, we do our best to remain flexible and ensure your purchase is risk-free.
