Educational Presentations

The Clickstart Team and their special guests host a variety of seminars to educate the human end of the leash. Our skilled presenters are experts in their field and eager to share their passions with all of you.

This 5 hour class, taught by Clickstart’s co-founder and certified Pet Tech® Instructor Cassie Pestana, covers the correct Pet CPR technique and other critical first aid skills. This in-person class goes above and beyond any online certification, allowing for hands-on practice and immediate instructor feedback. Family Paws® Presentations

We are honored to host Kate Uruchurtu, a licensed Family Paws® Parents Educator. As a parent herself, she knows what it takes to navigate raising a child alongside your beloved pets. Kate is providing two Family Paws® presentations: Dogs & Storks and Dogs & Toddlers. Each presentation is 2 hours. Whether you’re expecting a baby or navigating your child’s transition into toddlerhood, these presentations are the best starting place for accurate information.

K9 Nose Work® Orientation and Q&A

We are so happy to host Mara Clare VanValzah, CTC, ANWI of Collaborative Canines. Mara regularly competes in the sport of nosework herself and teaches 4 different levels of K9 Nose Work® on our Clickstart campus. This 60 minute orientation and Q&A is your opportunity to get to know Mara and get all your questions answers about the amazing canine sport of nosework.

Living with Rattlesnakes

Hiking and adventuring during "snake season" can be stressful for dog guardians, but it doesn't have to be! Building off the work of experts in the fields of animal behavior, cognition, and wildlife ecology, our seminar offers an affordable alternative to traditional aversive rattlesnake training. In this two hour seminar, we will cover: rattlesnake behavior and ethology, "snake-proofing" yards and homes, trail safety (for dogs and humans!), critical dog training skills for snake country, and creative training setups for wildlife avoidance.
