Supportive Services

Once you’re enrolled in a group class, you’ll receive a discount on private training to help address your specific goals and unique challenges. We can meet in your home or in a public park of your choosing to troubleshoot your training.

Class set up

We set up class in the shade of a quiet area of the park. We use physical and visual barriers when necessary to separate teams and help your dog focus on you and their training.

FAQs

  • If your dog performs amazing on our campus but not outdoors then this is the best next step in their training.

If your dog’s training with us has transferred well to the outdoors, then you’re ready for our Advanced Classes (Patio Pups, College, Masters, PhD, etc.).

We don’t want you to be bored in class (as most of the cues will definitely be review!) but we want you to see the benefit of practicing responsiveness in a controlled outdoor environment around other like-minded teams. We also have lots of sneaky ways to make each essential cue more challenging!

  • Because these classes take place in outdoor parks, you must officially sign up and complete payment through the respective city’s Park & Recreation department.

Let us know if you have any questions at all throughout the process!

  • While some amount of fixating on and vocalizing toward other dogs is normal, we want to make sure it’s not a disruptive amount and that your dog is able to succeed in class.

If your dog is consistently reactive toward other dogs and people, then we require beginning with our Reactive Rover Recovery class. After completing that class, we’ll let you know if Canine Essentials is the next best service to meet your goals!

We want class to be fun and stress-free for all! Jumping into this class before your dog is ready could ultimately make their reactivity worse.

  • If your dog is scared outside of their home or unlikely to take treats outdoors, then we require beginning with a Behavior Evaluation. After completing that service, we’ll let you know if Canine Essentials is the next best service to meet your goals!

We want class to be fun and stress-free for all! Jumping into this class before your dog is ready could ultimately make their fear worse.

  • Whether it’s a planned absence or a last minute emergency, each series comes with a complimentary Make Up/Office Hour class to schedule at your convenience. However, this make up class will take place on our campus in Lake Forest and NOT in the public park.

While we don’t offer refunds, we do our best to remain flexible and ensure your purchase is risk-free.

  • Our focus in this class is building dog-dog neutrality so they can learn how to ignore distractions and become more engaged with you during training. However, we completely understand the importance of meeting your dog’s social needs. Once you’re a Clickstart client you get to join us on our Field Trips or Group Walks for fun and safe group socialization opportunities!
